Plans
A plan is a pension, investment, protection policy or mortgage your client holds. Each plan keeps its funds, valuations, contributions, transactions and charges together, so you can see what a client has, what it is worth and what is being paid in without opening the provider's portal.
Where to find it
You reach plans from two places, and every plan has its own page.
Every plan in your firm: in the sidebar, click Library, then the Plans tab. The address is
https://app.templi.ai/plans.One client's plans: open the client and click the Plans tab in their client hub. The address is
https://app.templi.ai/clients/<client>/plans.A single plan:
https://app.templi.ai/plans/<plan>/overview. Each tab has its own address, for examplehttps://app.templi.ai/plans/<plan>/holdings.
See every plan in your firm
Library > Plans lists every plan across your firm. The line above the list shows the total value under advice, how many plans there are, and how many need a valuation, meaning they have no valuation from the last six months.
Use the Type buttons (All, Pensions, Investments, Protection, Mortgages, Other) to show one kind of plan. Only the types you hold appear.
Use Search plans at the top right to find a plan by product, policy number or reference.
Narrow the list with the Client, Provider and Status filters.
Each row shows the plan, its clients, provider, type, status, its 12-month trend, its value and when it was last valued. A Last valued date in amber is more than six months old, and a plan with no valuation at all shows Not valued yet.
See one client's plans
The Plans tab in a client's hub groups their plans under Pensions, Investments, Protection, Mortgages and Other, with a total for each group. The top of the tab shows the combined value of their Pensions and investments and how many plans they have.
Each plan shows its provider, policy number and charges, its value, and when it was valued. A valuation more than a year old shows in amber, and a plan never valued shows Not valued. Fees the client pays that are not tied to a plan, such as a planning retainer, are listed under Fees not on a plan.
Click a plan to open it. The back link at the top of the plan returns you to the client.
Open a plan
A plan's page shows its name, status, type, the clients who hold it and its policy number at the top. Click a client's name to go to their Plans tab. The right-hand side shows the Latest value and About this plan: provider, start date, end date, reference, what is being paid in under Contributing, and the system it came from under Source.
The tabs hold the detail:
Overview: how the plan is split by asset class under Allocation, the five Largest holdings and the five most Recent transactions.
Holdings: the funds the plan is invested in.
Transactions: money moving in and out, such as contributions, purchases, withdrawals and fees.
Valuations: what the plan was worth on each date.
Contributions: what is paid in, how often and by whom.
Charges: the fees and commission on the plan.
The add button at the top right matches the tab you are on, such as Add valuation on the Valuations tab, or Add transaction on Overview. Open its arrow, More ways to add, to add anything else.
Keyboard shortcuts on a plan's page are n h for a holding, n t for a transaction, n v for a valuation, n u for a contribution and n g for a charge. On Library > Plans, n p starts a new plan.
How plans get into Templi
Most firms never type a plan in. When you import your clients, Templi brings their plans across from your back-office system:
System | What comes across |
|---|---|
Intelliflo Office | Plans, holdings, valuations and contributions |
Iress Xplan | Pensions, assets and liabilities as plans, with holdings, the latest valuation and regular contributions |
Plannr | Plans, holdings and the latest valuation |
Importing again updates the plans Templi already has and adds new ones. Anything you recorded yourself is kept. No back-office system sends transactions, so those are only in Templi if you record them.
If your firm has no plans yet, Library > Plans shows an Import from button for each connected back-office system, alongside Add your first plan.
Ask Templi to record a plan
You don't have to fill in the form. Open Ask Templi and type what you need, for example:
Add Sarah Winters' Aviva SIPP, policy AV-SIPP-448120, started June 2009.
Record a market valuation of £206,508 on Sarah's SIPP as at 1 September.
Sarah now pays £600 a month into her SIPP with relief at source.
Which of Sarah's plans haven't been valued since her last annual review?
Templi shows what it recorded, and you can correct it in the same conversation. When the plan is right, you can ask Templi to send it to your CRM.
Add a plan yourself
Every plan needs at least one client, so start from the client when you can: their name is filled in for you.
On a client's Plans tab, click Add plan. From Library > Plans, click New at the top right.
Under Clients, choose who holds the plan. Add both clients for a joint plan.
Choose the Type and Status.
Enter the Provider, Product name, Policy number and, if you use one, the Reference. The product name becomes the plan's title.
Enter Started on, and Ended on only if the plan has finished.
Click Add plan. The new plan opens, ready for its holdings, valuations and contributions.
Record ISAs, bonds and general investment accounts as Investment, and SIPPs, annuities and drawdown as Pension. Statuses are Active, Pending, Lapsed, Cancelled, Matured, Transferred, Closed and Unknown.
Edit or archive a plan
Both actions are in the ... menu at the top right of the plan's page.
To change the plan's details or who holds it, choose Edit plan, make your changes and click Save changes.
To remove a plan you no longer advise on, choose Archive plan and confirm with Archive plan. The plan no longer appears for its clients, and its holdings, valuations, contributions, transactions and charges are archived with it.
When a client transfers a pension, keep the old plan and set its status to Transferred rather than archiving it. Its history stays on file for the transfer advice.
