Import your clients
Importing brings your advisers and clients from Intelliflo Office, Iress Xplan or Plannr into Templi in one pass, with each client linked to their adviser and their fact find filled from the back-office record. The steps are the same for all three systems. What comes across differs, and the differences are listed at the end.
Before you start
The back-office system must be connected and not waiting for reconnection.
Advisers you match or invite during the import need a Templi Adviser licence. Inviting someone who does not have one adds a paid seat to your subscription, and the import tells you before it does.
A large firm's import can take a while, mostly because each client's fact find is read from the back office. You can close the page and come back; the import carries on.
Start an import
Go to Settings, then Imports, and click New import. If you have just connected the system, you can also start from the Import clients task on your home page.
Choose the system to import from. Only connected systems that support importing are listed.
Wait while Templi fetches your advisers and clients. This is a read, nothing changes yet.
Review advisers
Each adviser from your back office needs a decision. Templi suggests a match when an email address or name lines up with someone already on your team.
Match links the adviser to an existing team member.
Invite sends them an invitation to join Templi and assigns a Templi Adviser licence. If no seats are free, this adds one to your subscription and the dialog shows the price before you confirm. You can revoke an invite later from the same screen.
Skip leaves the adviser out. Their clients still import, but without an adviser, and Templi cannot write updates back to the back office for those clients until an adviser is linked.
Advisers marked In Templi were imported before. Matching them again refreshes their details without creating a duplicate.
Review clients
Tick the clients to import, or use Select all to take the whole book. Select all applies to every client in the import, not only the page you can see. Clients marked In Templi are already here and are unticked by default, because importing them again refreshes their fact find from the back office and overwrites what is in Templi.
Confirm
The confirm page summarises the adviser decisions and the client count. The Import fact finds switch is on by default. Turn it off to link advisers and clients quickly without reading every fact find, which is useful for a first pass on a large book. If any advisers were skipped, Templi warns you and asks whether to import anyway.
Click Confirm import. From here the import runs on its own and cannot be undone, though it can be cancelled.
Watch progress, cancel or retry
The status page shows advisers and clients imported so far. Cancel import stops after the current record; anything already imported is kept. Retry takes a failed import back to the review step. If some records fail, a link shows each one with the reason so you can fix it in the back office and import those clients again.
Refresh a single client
To pull one client's latest fact find without running a full import, open the client in Templi and use the re-import option on their record. It reads the back-office record again and replaces the fact find in Templi.
What comes across from each system
All three bring across clients, advisers, personal and contact details, addresses, income and assets, and fill the fact find. The differences that matter when you plan an import:
